Weave — Sculptural Vase

Weave is a rounded, almost spherical volume with a narrow opening at the top, encircled by a network of soft, rope-like arms. The bands emerge from the body, arch above it and return to the surface, forming a light three-dimensional cage around the mouth — the only element that lifts away from the compact form and gives it its shadow. The surface has a fine granular texture in a warm creamy white, matte and pleasant to the touch; it doesn't reflect light but gathers it gently, keeping the transitions between the curves soft.

The form is handmade — modelled, shaped and finished in stages, with no serial production involved. The path of the coils, their thickness and the small irregularities in the surface all come from the work of the hand, so no piece ever repeats another exactly — a natural quality of handcrafted work. It can be treated as a standalone sculptural object or as a vase for a single dried branch or pampas grass; it looks well on a table, a sideboard, a shelf or in open shelving, among natural materials and a muted palette.
