The Two — Tabletop Sculpture

The Two is a pair of slender forged figures standing side by side on a shared rectangular base. Each is built from the same parts — a thin leg, a heavy faceted body and a broad, slightly tilted "head" — but they are set at different heights and angles, which creates a quiet tension between them: at times they read as a couple turned toward one another, at times as two separate presences. The dark metal carries a matte graphite finish, with visible hammer marks and small nicks along the edges that give the piece a raw weight despite its modest scale.

The sculpture is handmade — every element shaped, joined and patinated individually, with no serial production involved. Surface texture, depth of patina and the exact tilt of the upper planes all depend on the work of the tool, so no two pieces are ever quite the same — a natural quality of handcrafted work. The narrow vertical silhouette sits well on a bookshelf, an entryway console or a desk, and against a pale background it reads almost like a drawing.
