Interior — Wall Relief

Interior is a rectangular relief built from several overlapping planes with softly rounded edges, crossed by a pronounced vertical ridge and a horizontal arm — a configuration that reads at times as abstract architecture, at times as a simplified figure with one arm outstretched. A full sphere set into the upper part of the composition is its only perfectly regular element and becomes its natural focal point. The surface carries a uniform coarse-grained texture in a deep, muted burgundy; in raked light the roughness catches along the edges while the hollows thicken into dark violet.

The relief is handmade — formed, modelled and coloured in layers, with no serial production involved. The grain of the surface, the saturation of the colour and the run of the rounded edges all come from the work of the hand, so no piece ever repeats another exactly — a natural quality of handcrafted work. It looks best on a pale, smooth wall that brings out its depth of colour: in a living room above a sideboard, in a bedroom, a study or a hallway, where it replaces a painting and introduces a warm, saturated accent.
