Fracture — Wall Relief

Fracture is a circular relief broken into a series of sharp, angular fragments that overlap, push forward from the face and open voids leading straight through to the wall. The circle stays legible as a whole yet never quite closes — some edges are cut with geometric precision, others are jagged like a fresh break in stone. The palette holds to black, graphite and cool silver, with a dense speckled spray that suggests the grain of rock or a night sky; the fluid transitions from light to deep black build a second kind of depth alongside the physical relief.

The piece is handmade — the fragments cut, assembled in layers and spray-finished, with no serial production involved. The distribution of the speckle, the intensity of the tonal shifts and the run of the torn edges all come from the work of the hand, so no piece ever repeats another exactly — a natural quality of handcrafted work. The relief needs a pale, smooth wall to fill its inner openings and let the cast shadows do their work: it looks well in a living room, a study, a hallway or a contemporary office space.
